How It All Began
It all started with a sock
You're probably wondering: Huh? Why with a sock?
The story begins in 2020. Our founder and enthusiastic racing cyclist Christian had just received his long-awaited pair of Incylence cycling socks. But on the first ride, something happened that everyone probably knows: The socks got a “beautiful” chain tattoo - and the stain is still visible today.
This moment got Christian thinking: How can you keep the chain permanently clean and at the same time reduce friction and maintenance? He first came into contact with chain wax through a well-known German triathlete. Fascinated by the idea, he began to delve deeply into the subject of drive and chain care.
The result: extensive knowledge and the desire to share it with others. This is how Kettenhelden was born - with one mission: the best for your bike.

As passionate cyclists, we love spending our time outdoors - in nature, which is what makes our sport so special. That's why protecting our environment is particularly important to us. For us, sustainability is not a trend, but an integral part of our work.
With our approach, we focus on long-lasting and environmentally friendly solutions:
Waxed bicycle chains are not only more efficient, but also significantly more sustainable than conventionally oiled chains. Due to the reduced wear, a waxed chain lasts up to three times longer , which not only saves resources, but also your wallet.
In our workshop and offices, we only use electricity from renewable sources . We also make sure to keep packaging materials to a minimum and only use FSC-certified materials - without plastic wherever possible.
Sustainability is a matter close to our hearts and we are constantly working to become even better – for you, for sport and for our environment.
